Frequently Asked Questions
How reporting works, how you are protected, and what to expect.
No. This portal takes intelligence — information that helps policing. Submitting here is not an FIR. If you want to register a case, please visit your police station or contact the district control room.
Anonymous reports contain no identity at all. Confidential reports store contact details encrypted, visible only to authorised officers, and every access is logged. Identified reports include your details by your choice.
For anonymous reports we cannot contact you, so we give you a one-time private code. Save it — it is the only way to track your report or answer questions. We cannot recover it.
A report is first screened, then independently verified by the Police Station, and where needed by the sub-divisional, intelligence and district levels. Each level reaches its own conclusion before seeing others.
If authorised sources disagree, the report is marked conflicting and is escalated for district review rather than quietly filed away.
Yes. Files are stored privately, hashed for integrity, and can only be downloaded by authorised officers with an audit trail. Please remove metadata where possible for your own safety.
Identified, verified intelligence that leads to prevention or action may be recommended for a reward. Recommendations and approvals are recorded in the system.
Call 112 immediately. This portal is not for emergencies.
Still unsure?
Your safety comes first. Report only what you are comfortable sharing, and never put yourself at risk to gather information.
